7/4/2007 - RAFA NOW ENROLLING FOR FALL 2007 CLASSES
The Royal Academy of Fine Arts - CentrePointe and Pearland are enrolling now for Fall 2007 classes which will begin on August 20th. Accepting applications for students in ballet, tap, jazz, musical theatre and hip hop. RAFA also offers adult classes at both locations. 5/4/2007 - RAFA to present European Danse Fest 2007!
European Danse Fest is a one week intensive study program that will provide training in Ballet, Tap and Contemporary dance with world renowned teachers Mr. Luis Fuente & Mr. Ayman Aaron Harper. European Danse Fest will take place Monday August 13th - Saturday August 18th, 2007 with a concluding performance and reception on Saturday August 18th from 3-5PM. Mr. Luis Fuente was a principal dancer with Joffrey Ballet, with whom he danced for 12 years and then served as Ballet Master for three years. Mr. Fuente directed and choreographed for his own company in Madrid, Spain, "Ballet de Luis Fuente," as well as the "Fuente Ballet of New Mexico." He was director and resident choreographer for the National Ballet of Spain and is currently on the dance faculty of The Boston Conservatory. Mr. Ayman Aaron Harper was born in Houston, Texas, and trained with Bay Area Houston Ballet & Theater and the Royal Academy of Fine Arts, while attending Houston´s High School for the Performing & Visual Arts. He danced with Hubbard Street 2 before joining Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, and then moved to Europe in 1999 where he joined Nederlands Dans Theatre 2. Mr. Harper has also worked for The Forsythe Company, under direction of William Forsythe, and choreographed several works during his tenure -- including pieces for Nederlands Dans Theatre, Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, and Dominic Walsh Dance Theater in Houston Don't miss this once in a lifetime chance to study with the European Masters of Dance Luis Fuente and Ayman Harper.
