Ms. Kostritzky is a world recognized ballet teacher/mistress. For twenty years, she served as a faculty member at The School of American Ballet (SAB) at Lincoln Center, the official school of The New York City Ballet. During her tenure at SAB, Kostritzky created and developed The Boys Program. Earlier this year she was the coach for the ballet dancers, including Natalie Portman, in Darren Aronofsky's Black Swan and also appeared in the film.
Since 2009 she has been Guest Teacher/Coach for the Novosibirsk State Opera and Ballet Theatre, directed by Igor Zelensky. During the 2007 - 2008 seasons Kostritzky was Ballet Teacher/Mistress for the acclaimed Morphoses, The Wheeldon Company. Kostritzky also served as the Ballet Teacher/Mistress during the 2007 - 2008 season of The Vail International Dance Festival. In 2004 and 2005 she was a teacher for Benjamin Millepied at the Choreographic Institute in East Hampton, New York. RAFA was fortunate enough to have her as one of our guest instructors for the 2011 Summer Intensive.
Ms. Sorzano is originally from Trinidad, she received her primary instruction from New World School of the Arts, The Miami Conservatory, and The Dance Theater of Harlem. She
attended the Ailey/Fordham BFA Program and in her junior
year was invited to join Ailey II. She has been a member of Morphoses, Complexions Contemporary Ballet, The Alvin Aliey American Dance Theater, and TU Dance under the direction of Toni Pierce-Sands and Uri Sands.
Ms. Sorzano has performed works by Ulysses Dove, Mauro Bigonzetti and Ron K Brown. As well as, with recording artists Wynton Marsalis, Beyonce Knowles, and Rihanna. She was a guest artist on Dancing with the Stars and has most recently starred as the lead dancer in the independent film "You Me and The Circus". When not performing Ms.Sorzano enjoys teaching both nationally and internationally.
